 the 28C17A datasheet and pdf

The Microchip Technology Inc. 28C17A is a CMOS 16K non-volatile electrically Erasable PROM.  The 28C17A  isaccessed like a static RAM for the read or write cycles withoutthe need of external components.  During a °∞byte write°±, taddress and data are latched internally, freeingthemicropro-cessor address and data bus for other operations.  Followingthe initiation of write cycle, the device will go to a busy stateand automatically clear and write the latched data using aninternal control timer.  To determine when the write cycle iscomplete, the user has a choice of monitoring the Ready/output or using Data polling. The Ready/Busy pin is anBusyopen drain output, which allows easy con?guration in wired- polling allows the user to reador systems.  Alternatively, Datathe location last written to when the write operation is com-plete.  CMOS design and processing enables this part to beused in systems where reduced power consumption and reli-ability are required.  A complete family of packages is offeredto provide the utmost ?exibility in applications.
